My dermatologist claims that using a face scrub creates micro-tears that can make acne and skin damage worse. There's even a lawsuit against Ives Apricot Scrub that makes the same claim. But I've gotten facials with very experienced practitioners who recommend them... and I love my Ocean Salt scrub from Lush Anyone know what the real issue is?

As one face scrub lover to the next i find products like st. Ives to be problematic for combo + oily/acne-problem skin is the walnut shells tend to scratch or irritate the skin.
I think it’s a personal preference for some. For me it helps sheds all the oily, dirt and dead skin I tend to have and it helps remove some blackheads. My personal favorite are scrubs by Neutrogena.
